Die Mehrzahl

Meist hängst du -s an. Nach -s, -x, -ch, -sh und meist -o kommt -es (buses, boxes, tomatoes). Bei -y nach Konsonant wird es -ies (city → cities), nach Vokal bleibt -ys (boys). Unregelmäßig: child → children, man → men, woman → women, foot → feet, mouse → mice. sheep und fish bleiben gleich.

some und any

Beide heißen „einige, etwas". some steht in Aussagesätzen und wenn du etwas anbietest oder höflich bittest. any steht in Fragen und verneinten Sätzen.

I have got some apples.Have you got any apples? — No, I haven't got any.Would you like some tea?

much und many

many bei Dingen, die du zählen kannst (many books). much bei Dingen ohne Mehrzahl (much water, much time, much money). a lot of geht immer und ist in Aussagesätzen üblicher.

How many friends? How much money?She has got a lot of friends.
